Public Comment Needed: Proposed Amendment 9B to Major Thoroughfare Plan

The public is invited to comment on changes to Transportation Plan 2040, which is the OTO long range transportation plan through the year 2040. Greene County has requested several changes to the Major Thoroughfare Plan. Details can be found at https://giveusyourinput.org/category/public-comment/

  • Realignment of proposed Farm Road 94 to connect straight across to AB. This new alignment is in the city limits of Willard, who has concurred with the proposed amendment.
  • Removal of proposed Farm Road 140 (Grand Street) between Orchard Crest and West Bypass. The construction of this connection is prevented by established single-family residential and terrain. This connection is partially in the city limits of Springfield, who has concurred with the proposed amendment.

Greene County will take these changes through their approval process based on the recommendation of the OTO Board of Directors. OTO approval will remain pending until formal concurrence by Greene County.

Transportation Plan 2040 is the long range transportation plan for the region and proposes a list of projects which can be afforded through 2040. Projects moved to construction in the Transportation Improvement Program must first appear in Transportation Plan 2040.

The public comment period will continue until noon on August 16, 2018.  After reviewing recommendations and public comments, the OTO Board of Directors will decide whether to formally adopt the amendment at its regularly scheduled meeting on August 16, 2018, at noon, at 2208 W. Chesterfield Boulevard, Suite 101, Springfield, MO.
